Well it has started:
We have received our first letter from LA stating that they had got our letter that we had to send to say that we wished to continue with the adoption enquiry.
Our LA gave us form's to sign on Tuesday to say that we had 1 month to say if we wanted to continue with the adoption enquiry.
They also gave us a questionaire which asks which sort of children would you accecpt. It certly has opened our eyes .
So on Tuesday we sent our reply;
So yesterday our letter from LA thanked us for attending meeting and also for replying so quickly. They also say that they are pleased to tell us that they are taking us to the next step of adoption.
All we have to do is wait for a SW to be allocated to us for our initial visit.
we got so excited about it can't wait for next letter.

We would also like to say that we have been thinking very hard about the contact issue that has concerned us.
We have said that if it would benefit our chicks to see us in a picture with their birth family then what is wrong with that it will show our chicks that we are thinking of them and that we had met their birth family.
with the other issue of direct contact on a yearly base's then all i can say on that is that depends on the chick/s to weather it would benefit them. All we want is the best for the chick/s.

We want to wish all the best for Mary and Mungo for next week 3rd March 2010 hope all goes well, We are thinking of you

WOW WHAT A MEETING

Well it was "D" day on Tuesday,

Well there where 11" house holds" love the way they speak.. The meeting was very informal and quite relaxed most of the time.
We went through why children come in to care and what there thoughts on this might be.
which took about an hour and half. then we had a break which was very welcome by all ......

When we came back we had time to ask questions about what was said before and our feelings on this.

We then went on to the adoption triangle and had to guess what each where feeling. Which Gander and i found very interesting as where what we thought. we spent about an hour on this.

Then came the not so relaxed part the 2 ladies given us this information said, that we needed to think about what sort of contact we could deal with and they tried very hard to push open adoption's, to the fact that she said could we all consider weather we could meet birth parents and have photo's to put in chicks life story book......( I can say with my hand on heart that I'm not comfortable with this)
but it is not for my comfort i know that it is for our chicks.

By this time my head was well and truly banging. LOL

Gander and i did speak to one of the ladies SW's.
We told her about LA in 1999 and that we where turned down, she did say that when we get our initial SW visit they will be asking for our file from LA.
Then she said that it doesn't seem to be a problem but that was not a grantee.

So Gander and i came home a bit happy yet bit sad, and we talked loads.
We have come to the conclusion that if this new LA Say's no sorry even at this early stage, that will be it.
We have been together for almost 20 years and married for 17 years and have been trying to get pregnant via different fertility hospitals and a very bad miscarriage of twins.
and in 1999 we went through adoption.
So if they so NO sorry then we are saying OK thank you for visiting us. And it is your loss and we will walk away and still be a happy couple.

This is why it is now Thursday before i had posted.

Too much information LOL

Well here we are in February 2010 and what a good year it has been so far.

1 As every ones knows I'm a partner in a Barber Shop well here i am cutting hair and daily chit chat and then get on to subject of adoption well this gentleman and his wife N&G had adopted a little girl ten years ago. So N sent G down to shop and we had a good long chat( 2Hours ) and she said that they will help us as much as possible with any information that we need. They even let us see their daughters profile that they saw to give us an idea of what to except.

2 We are now a family of completed CRB checks. I have had mine done with the Brownies and it came back last week.

3 kitten is now 6 months old and not male but female, I can't believe that when started on this journey my kitten was not even born. and still not been to see SW's yet. oh kitten was spayed last Wednesday and pongo pined the whole time she was gone.

4 Been so busy at shop that we are now EMPLOYERS we have just taken on our friend to just work Saturday's at the moment we are the three musketeers again lol.

5 we have got exactly TEN days until we go to see SW to see if they will take us on to prep course. i have never been so happy and worried at the same time before in my life.

6 Oh and to top it all of i have got really bad cold so much for flu and swine flu jabs.....

7 Can't wait to see what the next TEN days bring.

good luck to Mary and Mungo for the 3 rd of march and to all how are waiting to hear what the next step is.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas 2009,
Well what do i have to say???????????????????????
OK Gander went for new job which would mean that he would work Monday to Friday 9-5.
He got selected for interview, went on interview on 30 November three people never turned up 1 was late and then on christmas week letter came and said due to the very high standards of all interviewees it was a hard choice but this time you have been unsuccessful this time ( Great Start to Christmas) any way Christmas went very well i got lots of scrap booking packs which will be ideal for when we need to do our home and family book to show panel and children when get approved.
Also just thought we have got just over one month until we go to information session, and see if we can progress with our adoption journey.
I .have been looking on be my parent public records (Gander wont let me subsrcibe fully to be my parent or adoption UK) can only go on message broads well i have seen 2 little girls and don't know what to do.
I know i can't approach their agency when we have not even been taken on by agency yet.
May be gander was right and that i should not be looking for our Little chicks yet.
well very busy at work so might not be blogging until middle of Jan'10

Happy new year to all and hope all had a very merry Christmas....

KickBoxing

Well i was at my second class of kickboxing tonight and one of the girls that i have got to know was
talking about adoption well ears pricked up. Gander said we are on the journey for adoption. Well she then went on to say that our town had has yes to her benign a single adopter then when she started home study was told that if she was not willing to take on a teenager or severely disabled. So they had turned her down bless her i know exactly what she is going through.
Well i told here about adoption UK i also told her that i am in contact with an agency and that i will give her there detail next week.

What i don't understand is that she works in a primary school given extra support to the children and she was told that she does not have enough child care experience this I'm not understanding.

Hope the information that i give her will help.

Monthly up date

Like title says this is a near monthly update as not a lot happening.

Well couple of this have happened.
  1. I have been reading a lot , these books
  • Big Steps for Little People
  • The Adoption
  • And now I'm on the Adopters on Adoption
the first two books where OK once i got in to them but the third Adopters on Adoption i just can't seem to get in to it.
I do realise that i did read and start to read the first two books last month.#
  • We have had the main part of our garden done. My Beautiful Roses have now gone and We have Grass and Gravel. We are also have seasonal bed benign made at the moment. A seasonal bed means that for each season you plant that season's plants and dig up last season's. It sounds Pretty good and will give some colour to the garden.
  • Oh for got to say while gander and friend where doing the garden (Paving) Gander went to relay a paving slab and felt something go in his hand............. I must say that any sane person would have stopped seeing that the pain was making them feel sick BUT NO my Gander continued laying paving slabs .. When i got home from work all i can say is OMG his hand looked like it belonged to a man that was at least 10 feet tall it was so swollen. So off we trudged to the A&E department and after waiting 3 hours got to see an assessment nurse she said and i quote " oh dear looks like you have done some damaged here I'll give you some pain killers, But we have an incident happen can you come back tomorrow to get the xray" We as you can believe i was not too happy but what can you do. So on Thursday i bandaged Ganders hand and wrist as in lot of pain (wish i hadn't thou) I then got a phone call from friend who was helping doing the garden is Gander meant to be shoveling gravel and top soil....... i could not believe it. MEN ...... Well after a few choose words like you silly wombat i took him back to A&E where we waited another 3 hours to see assessment nurse then she sent him straight through for xray then saw doctor another 3hours to do all that. Doctor was not at all happy that he was sent home on the Wednesday. Doctor told Gander that he has either torn the tendons in his hand ( which may need surgery) or he has broken at least 3 bones in his hand.... They wont be able to tell for at least a week so he is in plaster waiting for this Thursday to see what damage he has done... Lets hope its not too bad.
  • Gander Has put in for promotion at work if he gets it he will no longer work night and only work Monday to Friday 9-5. I am keeping every thing crossed as Gander has worked permanent nights for the last 5-6 years. If he gets interview it will be on 30th November '09.
  • I start my training for the Brownies this coming week just been sent agenda for this months meeting and i also start CRB this week as well.
  • We did lighting up village where Brownies is based and walked through village with the lanterns that we had made and then my pack came second in the design the guy which was really good.
  • Went back to doctors over weight issue and i had put on 3lbs not a happy bunny. So i have been told that I'm eating the right foods just need to cut down portion size so now my dinner plate is a side plate i never get full now just satisfied . just hope this works don't know what else i could do or them, we will see next week .
I will keep you informed on all the above and see where we go from there
