Merry Christmas 2009,
Well what do i have to say???????????????????????
OK Gander went for new job which would mean that he would work Monday to Friday 9-5.
He got selected for interview, went on interview on 30 November three people never turned up 1 was late and then on christmas week letter came and said due to the very high standards of all interviewees it was a hard choice but this time you have been unsuccessful this time ( Great Start to Christmas) any way Christmas went very well i got lots of scrap booking packs which will be ideal for when we need to do our home and family book to show panel and children when get approved.
Also just thought we have got just over one month until we go to information session, and see if we can progress with our adoption journey.
I .have been looking on be my parent public records (Gander wont let me subsrcibe fully to be my parent or adoption UK) can only go on message broads well i have seen 2 little girls and don't know what to do.
I know i can't approach their agency when we have not even been taken on by agency yet.
May be gander was right and that i should not be looking for our Little chicks yet.
well very busy at work so might not be blogging until middle of Jan'10

KickBoxing

Well i was at my second class of kickboxing tonight and one of the girls that i have got to know was
talking about adoption well ears pricked up. Gander said we are on the journey for adoption. Well she then went on to say that our town had has yes to her benign a single adopter then when she started home study was told that if she was not willing to take on a teenager or severely disabled. So they had turned her down bless her i know exactly what she is going through.
Well i told here about adoption UK i also told her that i am in contact with an agency and that i will give her there detail next week.

What i don't understand is that she works in a primary school given extra support to the children and she was told that she does not have enough child care experience this I'm not understanding.

Hope the information that i give her will help.

Monthly up date

Like title says this is a near monthly update as not a lot happening.

Well couple of this have happened.

1. I have been reading a lot , these books
   

• Big Steps for Little People

• The Adoption

• And now I'm on the Adopters on Adoption

the first two books where OK once i got in to them but the third Adopters on Adoption i just can't seem to get in to it.
I do realise that i did read and start to read the first two books last month.#

• We have had the main part of our garden done. My Beautiful Roses have now gone and We have Grass and Gravel. We are also have seasonal bed benign made at the moment. A seasonal bed means that for each season you plant that season's plants and dig up last season's. It sounds Pretty good and will give some colour to the garden.

• Oh for got to say while gander and friend where doing the garden (Paving) Gander went to relay a paving slab and felt something go in his hand............. I must say that any sane person would have stopped seeing that the pain was making them feel sick BUT NO my Gander continued laying paving slabs .. When i got home from work all i can say is OMG his hand looked like it belonged to a man that was at least 10 feet tall it was so swollen. So off we trudged to the A&E department and after waiting 3 hours got to see an assessment nurse she said and i quote " oh dear looks like you have done some damaged here I'll give you some pain killers, But we have an incident happen can you come back tomorrow to get the xray" We as you can believe i was not too happy but what can you do. So on Thursday i bandaged Ganders hand and wrist as in lot of pain (wish i hadn't thou) I then got a phone call from friend who was helping doing the garden is Gander meant to be shoveling gravel and top soil....... i could not believe it. MEN ...... Well after a few choose words like you silly wombat i took him back to A&E where we waited another 3 hours to see assessment nurse then she sent him straight through for xray then saw doctor another 3hours to do all that. Doctor was not at all happy that he was sent home on the Wednesday. Doctor told Gander that he has either torn the tendons in his hand ( which may need surgery) or he has broken at least 3 bones in his hand.... They wont be able to tell for at least a week so he is in plaster waiting for this Thursday to see what damage he has done... Lets hope its not too bad.
  

• Gander Has put in for promotion at work if he gets it he will no longer work night and only work Monday to Friday 9-5. I am keeping every thing crossed as Gander has worked permanent nights for the last 5-6 years. If he gets interview it will be on 30th November '09.

• I start my training for the Brownies this coming week just been sent agenda for this months meeting and i also start CRB this week as well.

• We did lighting up village where Brownies is based and walked through village with the lanterns that we had made and then my pack came second in the design the guy which was really good.

• Went back to doctors over weight issue and i had put on 3lbs not a happy bunny. So i have been told that I'm eating the right foods just need to cut down portion size so now my dinner plate is a side plate i never get full now just satisfied . just hope this works don't know what else i could do or them, we will see next week .

I will keep you informed on all the above and see where we go from there

Weekly report

Well what can i say........................

Been sticking to this diet and a bee sicks to honey and i got weighed today and we where waiting for this big drop at least 2-3 pounds and it was a great big "0" zilch, the big fat nothing.

We could not believe it i had recorded every thing that had touched my lips and only been eating 1500 Cal's i so miss my dark chocolate and i hurt from kickboxing on Tuesday not my week i guess.

Checked of eBay as waiting for Christmas presents to be dispatched and got email that the seller has not even received my postal order yet which was even on Wednesday 21 October at 11 26 am.
I sent another postal order on the same day and i have even received item .

What has happened to my postal order and item .................................. Postal strikes i so dislike them .

Nothing else to report, will next post when got more news

Doctors

Well winter is defiantly on it way, got my letter yesterday to attend doctors today for my annual flu jab.

My arm still hurts. I really don't like this injection it really hurts.

Whole i was there i had to have asthma check as well. Well that is good news as i blew 400 on the peak flow best ever ( normally can't get above 350) kickboxing is really helping.

Today i told our Doctor that we where going for adoption and told him when the information session was......

I don't think i have ever seen doctor move so quickly He rechecked my thyroid test height weight (which not happy about) redone my peak flow, and then said well Lisa we where wondering if you where going to go for adoption you have got full support of practice.

He has sent up a weight management with the nurse that i have to go every two weeks. he has told me to come off weight watchers and only do it through them so there is evidence for adoption medical that I'm trying to loose weight.

I asked him about the three months that i was on anti-depressions for miscarriage last year and his answer was " well it will show them that you are human and not a robot and that you have dealt with you lose"

He was filling in a form about thyroid problem and asthma he would look up and ask me a question and then mutter to him self and then put the answer in before i could answer him.
I think that i have given my doctor something to get his teeth in to.

When i left he was smiling from ear to ear.

Got to start the calorie control healthy eating tomorrow. Been told to reduce dinner plate with side plate and that way dinner will look bigger and will get fuller quicker all in the visual aspeck of it. and I'm not to do any more crazy crash diets.
I must say in my defence that in 2007 i went on the Cambridge Diet and i lost 5 stone for the IVF and i kept it all of until the miscarriage and i have put 3 stone back on but have been healthy eating since January but not been loosing weight just inc es.

Fire Station

Brownies>>>>>>>> Fire station
Yes i know i normally go to Brownies on a Thursday, but today was special as we where being shown round the fire station.

We got there at 6.15pm tonight and straight away the fireman where been really helpful. We had information session about what to do if alarms go off while we where in the Station. then we where shown round the engines and the turntable ladder.

I must say that the Fire men where brilliant to cope with 40 Brownies and 6 leaders and helpers.
They kept the girls occupied and interested and told them what they need to know and do to get there badges which was brilliant.

My Brown owl even said that it was a very good evening and that all girls where very interested and inter acted with the fire man Our Fireman was Jamie and he had to go up the turntable ladder which goes up to 100 foot in the air, Got so lovely photo's which will help the girls and me to get badges.

Thank you to all the firemen and women you do fantastic job

NO NEWS

Not even good news::::::::::::::
Well haven't written for a while just that got NO NEWS.
Oh sorry have little bit of information Old friend came to see me in shop last week (haven't seen her in 4 years) well after we went through omg have seen you in ages and you haven't change, I was told that she left her job to go to uni (which was bit of shock as she has 24year old son) 4 years ago she has just qualified as a SOCIAL WORKER you could have blown me over with a feather.
She has said that she will try and help us as much as she can but she works in our town and our LA is not it is in our county.
So i have been busy with brownies and i had a dilemma as on Tuesday Gander and i go to kickboxing and i go Brownies on Thursday well the Dilemma is that tomorrow is kickboxing but also got Field trip with Brownies To the Fire station (FIREMAN) on dear well came home last Thursdays and told Gander my Dilemma and bless him he said well guess I'm going kickboxing on my own on Tuesday, I love him so much.


Well this coming Sunday we are decorating shop for Halloween and on Halloween we are dressing up in witches outfits and my black lipstick came to day. Well you have to look the part lol.

after Halloween it is to start to preparing for Christmas

Hope all others how are approved and going through are having proactive time we are just reading. Really don't like book Considering adoption.

Well what can i say............ This must be turning in to a bit of a habit for my lovely Gander now
He has cooked me dinner twice (2) this week yesterday he did a lovely stuffed belly of pork roast with all the trimmings. Which was absolutely fab and he washed up. And tonight i got another fab dinner of bangers mash and beans. which was lovely as well.

Had another great time at the Brownies We had competition to see who could draw the best Guy Fawkes Which is to be made in to one
And then we made lanterns out of Glass jars some of the ideas the girls have is fab.

Rung up VA (moody SW) they said that can't help us because of our location in the fact that we are in the middle of the 3 shires ie Cambridgeshire lincolnshire lestershire.
We live top end of east Anglia so come into them and also an unoffical shire called Huntingdonshire
So we have city council Huntingdonshire council and county council and this is why they can't help us. If we moved north, east or west they could help us as then we would only have two councils to deal with too much red tap need to go through LA.
Well we contact the other two LA in the next towns and they said that they have big enough area's to cover as big counties that they are not taken on out side ( Meaning Us) at this present time.
Books
Well finished big steps to day and all i can say is what an eye opener it is.
Think I'm going to read considering adoption next.................

30 September - 6 October 2009

had a very lazy Wednesday only went to work. When got home Gander had done all house work and said that i looked very stressed on the Tuesday, He even cooked dinner and done the dishes.
( Mental note must get stressed more often.)

Thursday 1st of October and Dee day for Brownies.
Well all i can say is I LOVED IT. It was brill had such a good time
In the pack there is only Brown owl no other helpers except for parents.
I explained that we was are on the adoption journey and Brown Owl was fantastic and said would you like to go on the leaders course but you can't start until November.
All i said was YES PLEASE THAT WOULD BE GREAT.
Don't think i stopped smiling for 3 days.

The Book
Big steps for little people.
Got passed the fore words OK and then came the takenin to care (must say that i am reading this book at work in between customers) I just started to cry had to put the book down best friend said that may be i should not read it.
I picked it back up ( hour Later) and have not been able to put it down.
Starting to get miffed when have to do hair cut LOL
It is a great book . i look forward to finishing it within the next couple of days.

Kick boxing was good as always and instructor has asked if any one would like to do 2 classes so would be on Tuesdays and Fridays Think we are going to find out next week hope we do.

The dreaded Va's again. Well got a letter from the VA from last week (moody SW)
It says thank you for contact but we can not help you as you live within an area that has 3 councils (no idea what they mean)

Some one from adoption UK forum gave me another VA to contact to which i say thank you.
We have contacted the VA but are not taken on until January.
So we are going to wait for LA They have sent us letter to say that we are now booked on to the information session in February.
So now just the count down to this, February here we come

Does the left hand know what right hand is doing

Please can any one tell me if Va's know what the left and right hand are doing......
I rang VA today as still not received information pack from them, there number is on there web site number is in Newcastle. The lady was very helpful and let me explain everything then she said and where are you calling from I told her of course.
She then went on to say oh we only look after the north east from this office, you need to ring colchester.
So i said my thank you's and rang colchester. I told them that Newcastle had told me to ring them and was i at the right office or would i need to ring some where else (I was very polite ),
This new lady said oh no you've come through to the right office this time so i told her about information pack and address again, she then said i need to put you through to a SW, i thought great I'm nearly there. SW came on the phone and didn't say hello just read back our address our names (i must have looked like a nodding dog) I said yes that's right she even got me to tell her our dates of birth and then cuts me off half way threw saying oh you live top end of east Anglia i said yes well well we don't cover that area we only do north east south east and Midlands we will pass your information on to a different VA who might cover your area. You are sure you can't move north or south then we can help you.
I said I'm very sorry but as i am a partner in a business i can't just up and move (still being very polite).
Why could the nice lady in Newcastle tell me all this is stead of this lady who must have been having a really bad day(if that is her normally we don't want her as our SW ) she was so grumpy.


Kick boxing went really well can get my kicks higher now LOL.

I am starting one of the books tonight big steps for little people.

One more day until i start Brownies quite nervous now LOL......

Well i say thank goodness for the postman today.
We finally got our letter from the LA and two of the books have arrived as well.

Guess what yes your right we have another postal strike tomorrow will this ever end.......

{Pongo} and Mylo have been getting to know each other very well over the week end.
Mylo ( who is upstairs) came through the stair gate yesterday and was great by {Pongo} who was a drooling wreck. Mylo was tapping {Pongo} round the face as kittens do and then there was this almighty scream and {Pongo} came running down the stairs still screaming, well gander and i went running after him like any normal pet owner and found that Mylo had hit him with his Claws out and that our big brave German Shepherd was crying by the garage with a small nose bleed.
Just a few bits of cheese (His chocolate) later and he was back to his old self.
Then came the ring of Mylo's collar OMG any one would think that a ten tonne elephant was sitting on his tail BIG BRAVE {Pongo} ran screaming from the house and sat by the garage.
Mylo didn't even come down stairs.
We have spoken to {Pongo} ( sorry can't stop laughing) and told him that Mylo was only playing and that Mylo is only a baby.
He has just gone back upstairs to sit by stair gate and Mylo is playing no screaming as yet.
Got an e-mail today from the Brownies I'm starting this Thursday at 6pm .
Got kick boxing tomorrow so going to have an early night

Still No POST how long is this postal strike going to go on for ???????????????
Now to the good news,Mylo came down stairs on his own tonight but {Pongo} was in the kitchen.
Still Mylo walked round and had a blast. {Pongo} was in the Kitchen as a really nice Lady called Julie had come round to talk to me joining the Brownies she was here for over an hour telling me how much the Brownies had changed over the last thirty years. And to tell me that they are celebrating their one hundred birthday this year.
Julie has suggested that if i wanted to start straight away then i could go to next Thursday troop as the head of Wednesday troop that i wanted to join is away on holiday until November I said that i would go to the Thursday meeting but might need to change to a Wednesday as it might interfere with my astronomy club that is on the 1st Thursday of every month.
Julie said that she was going to e-mail me over the weekend to tell me whether it is going to be next Thursday and who I'll be with but she thinks it will be Gill.
Julie did say that if Gander wanted to she could put him in touch with the scouts but he was not allowed to join the Brownies it is for girls and laughed Gander did say that he didn't think he would look right in a skirt then we all started to laugh.
He did say that he was going to leave joining the scouts for now and was excited for me to be joining the Brownies. This Sat they are going to woburn safari park hope they all have fun.
Hoping we get our letter tomorrow.

So begeining to really dislike the postal service round here.
We still have not got our letters and some of our adoption books have not turned up yet either.

Must admit that it is all different this time round starting to get nervie about february allready What if they don't put us through, I have also red about health and safty on adoption uk what are they after,,,,,,,,,, Mental note must research this.
Looking forward to meeting tomorrow with Brownies and Gander is going to ask if he can join as well if not he said that he willtry the scouts he did it as a little boy. can't wait to see him in his wogal be so funny,

They made contact

They made contact................ Well i rang them couldn't wait any longer (local agency).
I said that i had rung them and was told that some one would be getting in touch and no one has,
This really nice Lady said that i was told the right thing but they also forgot to tell me that there is a waiting list to be called back.
Any way i could go on saying what she said and what i said but could be here for over a week, The short of it is that they had sent out a letter on the 11 september 09 but still not received it, it is ment to say that gander and i have been invited to a meeting on the 16 february 2010.
not that far awayi guess just now waiting for otherto get back to us now.
Also herd back from Brownies and got meeting on thursday at 7.30pm.

And to those who went to panel today and got a yes congratulations

Had a very bad night sleep last night since when do 9 week old kittens get so loud.
I could here him meowing from my bed room and it was very load spent half night laying on floor with him and he was just runing all over me.
{Pongo} was not paying him much attenchtion which is really good.
Still nothing from Either agencey so might give local agencey a ring tomorrow.

New Kitten

Well he is small very black and a tiny white bib and his name is Mylo, he is 9 weeks old and so cute.
{Pongo} went over to the carrier to say hello but all Mylo did was spit {Pongo} jump about a mile we could not stop laughing.
Mylo does not want to come out of carrier at the moment so are leaving him in there with doors open {Pongo} was very interested at first but now just laying down by me while i on computer.
I've also set up Mylo with pet plan Same as {Pongo}, i was very surprised that i got a discount but did thank you pet plan.
Had some good news about the Brownies they have sent me back an e-mail asking to set up a meeting face to face sometime this week so will let you know what happens there.
I have also started to win bids on eBay last time i looked had won 2 great stuff sending off postal orders tomorrow then.

Well still NO NEWS............
This is becoming a good blog no news no news.
I have looked on eBay and i am still wining the bids for the books.
I have also contacted the the district commissioner for Guides and Brownies to see how i go about joining as an adult member and if i need a CRB check and how long if do will it take to come back.
BF having BBQ tomorrow so hope weather going to be OK

Why oh why oh why That is the question.
Sometimes i just feel i have a kick me sign strapped to my stomach. And some people just don't think before they speak.


Well still no news from either LA or VA I'm so in patient i know. been on Adoption UK tonight and been reading some of the posts which made me feel a lot better.
Macalifrog and Mary and mungo always seem to have best advice on there and always make me feel better.
Think i had Blur Moment again.
Didn't rant at any one this time which means I'm getting better and book (Human growth and development) is helping and helps you understand some of way people treat and react to one another.

Tuesday 15 September 2009.

Thought i might have heard something to day from either local agency or Bernardo's but nothing.
I know it is early days so have started to look for books that are going to help us a long our journey through to adoption and help us after we find our family.

Garden

Well had a bit of BLUR moment over weekend. Not happy about local agency and their approach to us..... Moaned at a few people about it and must say sorry to them.
After i had my moan and BLUR moment on Sunday, hubby and i went and set upon the garden.
You see our garden caters for a dog {Pongo} (German Shepard) so where there should be grass there is Gravel to be honest whole garden is gravel.
For starts we have put a fence across our patio to stop Pongo going on the gravel.
We have been told by friend that we need to have separate part of garden for Pongo.
Well we had a great laugh putting a picket fence together, it took us six hours but we did it. Don't know how but we ended up covered in fence paint and was freezing ( i was )
Pongo now not happy with us and is just sulking in the corner.
over the next few weeks we are going to be replacing the gravel with grass.

I have some very nice friends.
One of my friends has given me august adition of children who wait.
Omg all these children just waiting (didn't mean the pun).
Hubby and i have looked throu together and there is 2 siblings groups that we would like to enquire about but it would be no good as no where near this point yet.
Just whishing i guess.
Hope they all find loving homes

Count down 0 days
Took number to shop on Thursdays 10/09/09 and rang local agency, Spoke to
duty SW asked if it was fostering or adoption we want to progress in we said adoption three times. Duty SW said that adoption SW would be ring us back soon.
Well less than an hour and SW rings back, not adoption SW but fostering...... She has our name wrong wrong spelling says mine with a z not a s got our address wrong the only thing right was telephone number.

Any way we sorted that out made a laugh about it didn't want to seem to stressed.
I told SW worker that we had been turned down 10 years ago and the reason why that i didn't understand the needs of an adopted child, she laughed she actually laughed couldn't believe that she laughed (while laughing she did say that SW should have moved us to different SW who did not have problem with us).

After this conversation which i thought would last about half hour to hour lasted a grand total of 6 minutes. SW said that some one would be in touch. ( shortly).
How long is shortly? well waited rest of Thursday feeling a bit deflated about local agency.

Friday 11/09/09

Really don't like this day not only what hole world knows but on same fateful day in 2001 my darling dad was told he had term cancer. so didn't think about a lot today but wish local agency would ring back.
Got really bad head ache guess thinking to much again lol.xx

Saturday 12/09/09

Had really good day at work no news from agency. hubby telling me it will come when it comes phone call or letter.
i am looking forward to tonight going out for meal with family as sister moved in to her own place on Wednesday 09/09/09 ( she has learning difficulties) first time on her own we all worried but got lot of support so know she can do it.

Hope i hear soon just wondering if there shortly is a week 2 weeks month or next year.

Not sure if should stay with this agency wondering if should look for different agency ? who knows.

Well had a brillant day at work untill about 2.30pm when this guy came in.
Well we got talking as barbers do and we got on the subjet of ADOPTION.
He said and QUOTE :" his best friend had adopted tiwn girls 8 years ago but they where drug addic's when they where born. I told them that they only got another 8 years to go untill thier of thier hands as thier not there natrual children".
I could not belive my ears i got so upset by what he was saying that when he was gone i went and had a cry.
His friends adopted the twins when they where 6 months old.
well i have got my check list for tomorrow got number and letter and just need to make contact.
Got every thing crossed now.

Count down is now minus 2 days to go.
Had lovly lady come into the shop today M with the 3 little ones.
she was so excited for us ( have not seen her in near 2 months).
First thing she did was hug me and say only 2 more days untill it all starts. She wanted to knowhow much i knew already ( which is not a lot as my last attemped was 10 years ago)
Business Partner(female) H is asking all the right questions but was very shocked when i said it could take 2-3 years from start to finish. She said and i quote your nearly be 40! and procceded to laugh.
We have talkedand have decied to go for 2-3 silbling group 7 years or young hope 1 to beat least preschool.

The first time that i have written a blog but i would like to keep a record of our journey through
the adoption process.

It is minus 3 days until we contact the adoption agency.
Hubby just playing on PS2 while I'm writing this lol.
